KickStart What is KICKSTART? This competitive program is for dancers ages 5-7 years old (School grade of SK, Grade 1 or Grade 2). Our Kickstart program is designed to foster a love of dance while working on establishing solid fundamentals of dance. Kickstart is a training program and a stepping stone towards our Elite Company. Dancers will take classes in ballet, jazz and tap as well as competition rehearsal class each week. The commitment is approx. 4 - 5 hours per week. What our KickStart dancers can expect: Focused classes and rehearsals, while keeping the fun! Learn and rehearse 2 group competition Routines Compete in 2-3 Competitions/Conventions with some travel (Ex. Chatham, Toronto, Michigan) Be featured in Dance Barre's EXCITING yearly concept video Perform in "Dance Innovation" Elite Company’s Fundraiser Show at the Chrysler Theatre Enjoy Holiday celebrations as a team and an End-of-the-year Banquet
Elite What is ELITE COMPANY? Dance Barre’s ELITE COMPANY is a competitive team for ages 8-17. These pre-professional dancers train 12-15 hours per week and are well-rounded dancers. In addition to these training hours, the dancers attend 4-5 Convention/Competitions throughout North America. These young dancers are hard working individuals who understand the efforts, dedication and commitment required to be a part of a competitive team. Dancers learn time management, spirit of competition, team unity and an appreciation for the arts. Mentorship by faculty and life-long friendships are made. CREW What is CREW? Dance Barre CREW is a great way for your dancer to feel more involved at the studio, gain a sense of being part of a team, improve on their dance technique and work towards exciting performance opportunities. It is a performance based team that focuses on one discipline of dance. Dancers learn choreography, practice and perfect their routine at a weekly CREW class and enjoy the benefit of performing throughout several events during the year. CREW is offered in jazz, tap, hip hop, lyrical and ballet. CREW dancers can also opt in to our additional CREW Production team. Dance Barre CREW is open to students ages 8 - 17 and auditions take place each year in April or May for the following dance season’s team. CREW dancers must take a recreational class in the dance style of their CREW team and participate in their one hour CREW rehearsal each week.
